DNA Battle

THE CHALLENGE

Your students will discover that when they eat strawberries and bananas, in addition to ingesting carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins, we also ingest nucleic acids. How is this possible?

The challenge is to learn how to extract DNA from fruit in a fun battle to find out which of the two (banana or strawberry) contains more.

To find out the answer… they will have to do the experiment!
